HP FB700 "Honking" at Times

Our FB has been making a noise when the sheet is finished and the last foot or so is ejected from the machine. It sounds almost like a honk. Further examination leads me to believe that the alignment bar is slightly touching the belt, and when it quickly ejects there is a bit of resonance making the bar create the noise.

Has anyone dealt with this? Know the cause or solution? A bit confused on how to deal with it at this point.

Is this a new printer? Warranty? Call dealer...or call HP direct, they will troubleshoot if out of warranty...

it can be several things...upload a video if u can

Ryan,

We had this noise happen with our FB500 only with certain substrates.

It is the bar slightly touching the belt, asked HP about it and they said no big deal.

It went on for years and nothing became of it, I wouldn't worry.

Too much ink on the belt?

This was my thought, but there isn't anything that is raised very high. We've had some fairly large bumps prior with no noise. I removed those before this started.

Thanks for this! I may still call HP - when I have time. Nice knowing nothing is going to fail in the meantime.
