HP FB700 - Strange Pattern in Print

Midway through a long print run our operator noticed that there was a weird pattern in the print. We cleaned the encoder strip and sensor (wound up replacing the encoder strip due to some damage during cleaning). Cleaned heads, changed out some ink that was nearly depleted - nothing seems to work.

Has anyone ran into this issue before? What could be causing this?

how does your carriage sound? i had that issue on my 700 and one of the bearings on the trolley assembly was on its way out and causing vibrations on the carriage while tracking across the rail. if you hear any sort of grinding or squealing or anything of that nature i can almost guarantee that its gonna be that. will need a tech to pull the whole carriage off the rail and reassemble.
