HP L26500 Latex - Excesive head cleaning kit usage?

OK, I printed two 3'x5' real estate signs and 3 banners (Two 36"x120" and one 36"x180"

That used up the last 10% of my head cleaning maintenance kit. Is this normal?

If the kit reaches 100% full, can I still print? Or am I SOL until the new kit arrives?

Just seems like the cleaning kit was used up in the blink of an eye compared to my print volume. Just curious if I need to keep these things on hand because they need to be changed weekly.

That is normal with extra cleanings enabled. When you hit 100% it goes in to Reserve mode and keeps running.

I would keep a set of cleaning items, heads, and ink on hand... we have been doing that since 2010 and it has served us well. We also turn off extra cleanings as we found it was worse for the image quality on our machines.

In the Image Quality Maintenance Menu on the printer is a setting to enable/ disable Extra PH Cleaning. If this is enabled, the heads will be wiped on each pass, which will consume the maintenance cassette much more quickly than if it is set to disable. In most cases there is no benefit to enabling this.

I don't recall mine going down that fast. I never use the extra print head cleanings. I will also second to having an extra set of inks, pront heads, cleaning kit, etc on hand. The time you end up with a bad cartridge or head is when you need it most!

Also, don't let the ink maintenance kit go too much over 100%! I did that and ended up having ink run everywhere when I pulled the ink funnel out to change it. Haha

keep and eye on the bucket underneath too. I've overflows those once or twice as well.
