Machines are good for line drawings. Can't compete with the printing quality of regular Photo Printers if printing pictures and posters, but produce acceptable quality in relation to the speed. In europe, because of mandatory service contracts and so on, it is not economically to use that printers for a few hundred prints per month only.

Ink is pigmented, water based ink, so it have a limited UV-resistance and is water resistant. We have let the market leading outdoor advertisment company in switzerland test prints for outdoor advertisment (posters) on blueback, and they have approved it.

We have tested different RIP-Softwares too for Poster Printing, drivers are available for Onyx-RIP's, SAi FlexiPRINT (not shure that they are officially available now, but they have a working driver), SAi Pixelblaster, and Caldera. Not much quality profiles available, be aware of doing profiling yourself.

If the machine fits your needs is your decision. Perhaps asking for print samples of your own files.
