HS15 Plus RS-232 Test Failure Error

I am attempting to connect a Gerber HS15 Plus for the first time. On power up I get the error alarm which details out to Error Code 3 - RS-232 Test Failure.

Does the cutter automatically test the connection with the PC and this is the error, or is this an internal error to the cutter?

I have checked the setting on Com Port 1 and they match the Gerber HS15 User Guide.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think it's testing the actual connection but testing the internal UART.

I'll ask around tomorrow. Not that this has anything to do with it but do you have the proper Gerber cable?

I was provided a cable that has matching ends that look like a printer cable. The ends are a matching type - the same as the connection point at the cutter. I assumed the connection goes from the LPT port to the cutter. Could this be the wrong cable?
