I need Illustrator for DUMMIES...Bounding box

I have a file that has a large box around it. How the heck do you resize the box or get rid of it so that I can tell the size of the object?

Basically you have to select it with the pointer tool that is on the right side of the tool box, then delete the box.
You can PM me if that is not it.

Are you referring to the art board? If so select file and then document set up.

If you are trying to resize an object use the "transform tool"
