4over has tiered purchasing and pricing for one simple reason. It knocks out end users who are bluffing that they are brokers/producers.

If they opened everything up any ole schmoe could just say he is a graphic artist and order anything they wanted. This way they make your prove yourself that your legit up to level 3 for level 4 and 5 you get discounts based on your volume.

I am so happy that they are keeping scum like me out then. I'd hate to be thought of as a "Graphic Artist" when all the ole' schmoe has really ever done is spend my whole life in art, signs and design.....

I feel like I should "prove" myself to a faceless, nameless URL....

JEEEEEZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!

Its not to discriminate against you. Its to protect those like you who have worked their butts off to earn the title. Its to keep people that use publisher to make graphics for their own business being able to bypass someone like yourself and make an end run around to get the good stuff.

But it IS discriminating against me. It is still letting the people with Publisher designs order, as long as they have also ordered 10,000 dollars (or whatever the magic number is) worth of absolute crap. Now they can just order shinier (literally) turds! :noway:

In other words they have No Confidence or beleif in their own verification department. Why even bother verifying anyone at all? It's easy to find out who is bluffing and who isn't. I opened an account with them recently to veiw their products and after veiwing their stupid infrastructure decided I didn't like the products available to me. Not worth my time to bother from them. I have to order thousands worth of crappy cards to have the ability to have a nicer card that they show me for level 2 but wont let me have? After I spend the unknown amount they will let me order a nicer card but then show me what I could be ordering if I order a few thousand more? Honestly this is a Joke. I am looking to have my own cards redone and would at the same time like to be able to offer card printing to my customers. If any other merchants here do cards feel free to PM me and let me know what you offer. I am close to saying forget all this and just order a batch from staples at this point (would rather not) Just finding it fustrating thats all.

There are a lot better printers than that out there (and less expensive too) ... For all my personal printing I use overnight prints ... good stuff, inexpensive and a couple options available. oh and apperently Moo Printing is excellent ... a lot of my designer cronies rave about them.

As for whole sale printers ... just use google ... find ones that offer the odd setups (plastic cards, die cut cards, green materials, hot stamped, embossed, etc.) since those are the hard ones to get decent pricing on ... but really every business card site wholesale or not offers business cards at $10-$50 for 1000 glossy cards.

I just was treated with the same type of Elitist attitude from 4Over.
They turned away a project which was over $10,000 wholesale because I wasn't high enough on their multi tier system.
At first I was more than pissed off.

I then put the project out for bids to three other trade only sources and lo and behold ALL three trade printers where considerably lower in price than 4 Over.

Thank you 4 Over.
I have found several new and better trade sources. You have provided a great service to me at least. I won't be calling you in the near future.

care to share? we are big print customers due to our high design sales. would love to have more than one option.

LMAO, I guess they read this and the myriad other threads about the tiered access, as of this AM it's gone!

Yup...I read your post, and went and checked it out...

About time they came to their senses... Of course, I had already placed the order I need elsewhere...

I wonder how much revenue they lost from their customers forced to find other sources of product.
