A week ago i get this email from a client, and i respond as matter-of-fact as i possible can… because it's just so ridiculous and what i really want to say is "did you suffer a blow to the head recently?"

Gigi,
I found this email from you with the first proofs, but you never sent a new proofs. It's been a month and we haven't heard anything from you! Please send the new proofs we need those business cards!
!

Liz,
The second set of proofs was emailed to you on 2/7/12.
You signed and returned the proofs on 2/10/12 (signed proofs attached).
The business cards shipped on 2/15/12 (ups tracking # xxxxxxxx).
Delivered to your office, 2/17/12 @ 2:14 pm.
Received at the front desk, signed for by Blake S.
Invoice emailed 2/13/12, balance still due (invoice attached).

Gigi,
Okay, I'll check with Blake and send out your check.

And Tonight I Get This!!!!

Gigi,
Blake's on vacation and some of the other employees are out of business cards. Did Blake sign for all the cards?

Liz,
The cards all came in one shipment. Didn't you speak to Blake about the delivery after our last email? I'm sorry to hear you can't find the cards, i suggest you contact Blake. Do you have any suggestions where else besides the mailbox i should look for the check? ;) Seriously though, if you opt for drop shipping in the future, i will need to bill the full amount on the first invoice.

I know, i know... i should have left the sarcasm out. especially after i pulled off that oh-so-professional response the first time out. but, but i could help myself

come to think of it.... i'm a little worried about Blake. maybe Liz is just assuming he's on vacation. but really he never came back from lunch one day last week... and she won't think to call the cops for a month!
ooooh no... then how will poor Liz ever find the business cards?

You should have told her you mailed each card individually in order to reduce the risk of losing the entire order. Tell her five or six a day should start trickling in sometime this week.

YESTERDAY heck, she had it a month ago. and i only wish i had the kahunas to actually say "f-u-pay-me" ....naaaa i look silly faking tough... but that is a great video.

:ROFLMAO: that's great!!! i might just tell her tomorrow "i wish i had" mailed them that way. i better wait and see if she's able to see how silly this whole thing is.

sometimes i think it's just easier for people to send an email, than it is to get up off their lazy hiney's and figure things out themselves. some clients seem to think i'm their employee.

About 2 1/2 years ago I had a similar situation. Guy bought 5000 business cards, 5000 brochures, and 5000 Rack Cards. I met with him and his office manager when he signed off on the proofs. Everything was dropped shipped to them. About a month later, He emailed me wanting to know if I ever finished the proofs for everything. Emailed back and said that yes, he had already paid me for the cards and other printed material and the items were delivered a couple weeks back.

At the time, this guys father just passed suddenly during the time he signed and he was starting another business with his brother and then having to take over his fathers business as well as running his. So I could see how he could forget about signing the proofs.

I told him that his office manager had signed for them on delivery on the date. He said she was on a two week vacation and didnt know where she would have put them but thanked me for letting him know.

2 weeks later he calls me up and tells me he needs to order 5000 of everything again. I was shocked he could go through that many printed material in a couple of weeks for a new business.

Turned out the Office manager took all the items and put them in the trash. When she went on Vacation, she moved back to Texas and was never planning on coming back.

Hope this guy didnt go on vacation and walk out on them like this lady did.

grrrr, this just in....

Gigi,
I was able to get in touch with Blake, turns out he had everything in his office.

since there was no "sorry to have troubled you YET AGAIN" or "thanks for your patience, sending the check out asap!"
i mean, she didn't even end it with "thanks, Liz"

i know the right thing to do would have been to reply with....
"well that's great Liz, glad to hear it all worked out."

but i didn't...

instead i wrote...

Liz,
Did he have my check too?

is it just me... or do people seem to be losing any sense of manners or personal accountability these days?

i just couldn't imagine blaming someone for something, finding out the mistake was mine, and not apologizing.

i'd be so quick to shoot back a :thumb:

GG, they must not have read Dan A's thread the other day about being kinder gentler people.

Like I said... some people just need a slap upside the head to give them a reality check.
Heck, maybe even a second slap for good measure.

Down here in Florida all you have to do is yell mosquito first and it's a legal hit.

i could find a nice way to do it.... maybe send her a nice card.
on the front it has a pic of a mosquito (per d fleming) and when you open it... a rally nice B-slap pop-up.

ya know... a kind of thank-you-for-your-business card. wouldn't that be nice?
