So i got the worst call the other night at dinner. Our shop is in a complex of 4 buildings each building consisting of 2 units and the unit directly next to mine had a vehicle fire inside. Luckily the fire dept responded within 7 mins of the first call but by the time they entered the car was fully engulfed and both units were full with black smoke. Luckily there was no structural damage to the building.
So now we begin the painful process of cleaning. Today the ins adjusters all came out. They removed all of our electronics from computer towers, monitors, fans, you name it if it had a circuit board in it they took it. Now they say they will clean and return. Ok no worries.
We inventoried all vinyl material today in boxes and on rolls on rack. We did not measure the length of material left just the colors or make and listed for replacement. Print room was not that bad very little signs of soot. My question is do you think its safe to print on anything that was in a box? Colored calandered cut vinyl ok to use? I am submitting for replacement but not sure what the outcome will be.
We are most likely going to be dead in the water for at least a week. Still waiting to see what the outcome will be with our jv3 as well as a small epson printer we use for films. This is the worst time of year possible for this to happen.
We may have a few small jobs that will need to be printed if anyone has time please send me your info. Unfortunately until our computers and server are back online and offices have been ozoned and cleaned i have nothing.
I wish this on no one.. Sorry for the rant but if anyone has any experience with this any insight is welcomed... Felling very overwhelmed.
