Illustrator presets

I made the mistake of letting someone use my computer to "play around" in Illustrator. Long story short, one little thing is messed up.....

When I use the selector tool, I could highlight an object, then grab the corner and scale the object. Now all I can do is "move" the object. I CAN still use the transform tools, but sometimes that is sooooo inconvenient.

How can I get this setting back to where it was before?

This may be the solution...

CNTRL+SHIFT+B/CMD+SHIFT+B will probably do the trick. That toggles the bounding box on and off. Same as View>Show/Hide Bounding Box.
