Illustrator question

Can someone tell me how to cut letters with a stroke on it without cutting all the stroke lines, I did it last week but for got what I did.

offset path rather than convert strokes to outlines.... or if you do convert strokes, then just ungroup and add them all together into one shape.
also, setting a cut path using a stroke swatch rather than an object fill may result in being read as two paths.

To make strokes into paths go to...

OBJECT>EXPAND

and it will make your stroke a path,
"UNGROUP" then go to

WINDOW>PATHFINDER select your graphic that needs welding and hit the "add to shape area" button then hit "EXPAND" on your pathfinder window.
