Illustrator railroad question

Chuck Peterson

New Member
I remember back in an earlier version of Illustrator, probably 8, I was able to draw a line, curved or straight that had cross lines just like a railroad is shown on a map. Does anyone know how to do this in CS3?
Thanks

Go to:

'WINDOW">"STROKE"> Then play with "DASHED LINE" and stroke width.

Oh I forgot, if you want an actual rail instead of dashed line, there is a brush.

go to:

"WINDOW">"BRUSHES">click on the window options menu in the brushes window>"OPEN BRUSH LIBRARY">"BORDERS">"BORDERS_NOVELTY" and you can give any stroke a rail stroke (adjust the width through the "STROKE" window
