Illy ? (Text on path)

So i have this object... on the top... i need to create this in a reverse form.

Transform, Reflect... I know the text is going to be going the opposite direction... Does anyone know of a quick way to change the direction of the text so I'm not typing backwards...

I could have sworn after I deleted the text and started typing again it was in the correct direction. I stopped typing, to copy the text from the top one to paste into the lower... However, it didn't work and I cant seem to figure out what I did to get it typing in the right direction.

Thanks!

Looks like you need to reflect your path before you start typing again, you cant just "reverse" the text to follow the reflected path it sits on

Well if I reflect the path I'm in the same boat as I was before... I need the objects to essentially mirror each other (each side of the vehicle).

Here's my dirty fix... deleted text, filled path/object with color, expanded the object so I have my shape/path/object back without the text path, and then reapplied the type on path tool...

Wish I knew of a cleaner method, but this does work...

doesn't sound like a "dirty fix" to me... sounds like a very simple & correct way to do it. Only thing easier would be to realize you need a flipped copy of the shape, before you turn the first one into a text path

nope, i cant find any better way then how i did it... maybe that's how it supposed to be done... *shrugs*

The link you provided shows how to reverse the text in relation to which side of the path the text appears.

There is another way, no guarantees that it's faster than your solution...

Deselect everything and then use the white arrow to carefully click on the points of the path you want to change, without accidentally clicking the white-box-with-vertical bar that is used to represent the type on a path. Do transform - reflect. The shape will flip and the type will still be running the correct direction. But, it'll be upside down, on the underside of your path. Now go to the type menu at the top, go to type-on-a-path submenu, then click options. Put a check in the "flip" box and click ok. Now the type is on the correct side. Highlight and ctrl+shift+R (or L) to make it align on the correct side.
