Importing eps files

How come when I try to import certain eps files, they import as bmp and not vector files?

You're picking up the bitmap preview.

Try manually selecting the type of file before you open or import it instead of leaving it set to All Formats. I find that the AI - EPS selection works the best.

EPS file can be either bitmap or vector or combined, if original graphic is abitmap, you will get bitmap. In Coreldrw importing EPS files, there is choice of "Encapsulate PostScript" or "PostScript Interpreted", choose "PS" to get vector.

some eps files will open but you will get a light bmp if you try to import it. If the import don't work, try opening it.

open it in illustrator to get the real file and see what's on there. not all .eps files are 100% vector files.
