Importing from Signlab...50% of files now are masked...strange

I have not updated my Signlab and run 8.0 for at least 8 or 10 years. I export anything created in Signlab as an eps and import to Flexi for printing. I use the subscription Flexi, so I am pretty much up to date with that software.
About a month or so ago, I now have files that were exported from Signlab and 100% created in Signlab coming into Flexi and at least 50% of the files have a mask. Not a big deal but I can't figure out what causes Flexi to think there is a mask about half the time...

Try importing the files into a new window in Flexi as opposed to just opening the file, I have a few problem files that only print correctly if I import them. My guess would be it's a stroke or gradient created in Signlab that Flexi is choking on.
