In House Promo Printing

Does anyone do their own in house printing of promo products? We are looking into getting a pad printer to save on outsourcing and would love some opinions

I have seen this suggested many times, however, usually the sum of the parts is more than outsourcing....Unless you are a "magician" as far as sourcing blanks it is hard to beat the all in price of large trade suppliers.....
