Unfortunately, the 2 places (Fellers & Grimco) I used to get 48" 13oz. banner material from longer carry 48" rolls. Any advice on where else to look?
I think Grimco can cut rolls down too.Pretty odd width. Can you not use 54? I have a roll slicer and can cut a 54" down to 48" if that helps you out. My warehouse is in Cleveland.
My Grimco supplier says they're not able to do this any longer. Says its been years since they've done it.I think Grimco can cut rolls down too.
Well Grimco done me 2 rolls back in December, but now they tell me they don't anymoreMy Grimco supplier says they're not able to do this any longer. Says its been years since they've done it.
Would you know what sales person or branch said they still do, as I am in the same boat.Grimco saved the day, they can still slit. Unfortunately with my Mutoh 1204 I can't print on 54" rolls. I called Grimco and they offered to slit the rolls. $6.00 a piece to slit each roll was well worth me not attempting this on my own.
Fellers left me down big time on this one. For as long as I have owned my printer (14 years) I have ordered 48" zeelon banner from them. I purchased a 48" roll 6 months ago and ran out yesterday. Fellers now has their new "black label" replacing EVERYTHING and they don't offer 48" rolls....
Interesting! I assume the heat from the blade doesn't melt the vinyl or plastic? Why not make it an easy DIY project?

$30 DIY vinyl roll slitter Video
This may come handy for some. I made this for almost nothing. Works great for wrap 5 ft rolls and 50 yard rolls. I was limited to 10" saw so rollers were needed. $45 saw and $30 in parts. Still cheaper than $300 12" saw.www.signs101.com

It won't as long as you go slow and back off at frequent intervals to let it cool down. The more teeth, the finer the cut, but also the more likely to melt/burn. You shouldn't see smoke from these videos -- I like their DIY initiative -- they just need to slow down and cut / cool their blade in smaller increments.Interesting!
