Inserts for changeable convenience store signs

My customer has a sidewalk sign with a clear cover on it to 'protect' an advertising insert. What material should I use for the insert? I'm thinking polystyrene. I could use a card like stock, but wondering about humidity causing some problems. If polystyrene will it warp in the sun? This is one of those changeable frames that the side pops open, you slide in the advertisement, and then snap down the frame.

High Intensity Poly Styrene - like .020" or .030". That's what I would use. Or ditch the clear cover, and print it on Coro.
