Install Dimensional Letters on concave surface

I have an install that I'm look for some other opinions on. Here are the basics:
Installing some 2' tall letters vertically down the center of a concave concrete pillar.
I plan on stud mounting. But I'm thinking there must be a smarter (more efficient) way to get it done.
Are there any other install methods that would cut my on site install time down. Or make the finished product looked more polished and increase the "cool" factor.

Any thoughts?

No its not to scale.
It just a quick layout to help illustrate the situation.

I would tape the pattern to a strip of plywood, drill all your holes through the plywood, then hold the plywood up against the curve and mark your holes on the column with a drill bit.

Thanks for your response. If I stick with stud mount, I plan to do exactly what you suggested.

But my question is more about more install method. I guess I should edit my original post to be more clear.

I'm looking for another possible install method, other than studs, that might make more sense for this project. I would not mind cutting my margins to build something that would cut my on site install time in half.

Stay with the stud mounts. You'll be back to fix it if you do anything else.

2' FCO alum letters will be a bit heavy. stud mount is the best way to go here
