Installation Over Water

Hi all. I am hoping someone out there can give me some advice on how to plan a removal/installation of posted letters over a very active river. I contacted the window washing company that has rigs setup to see if we could contract them, but no luck.

We have done a total rebrand of all exterior signage, except for this graphic. The guys didn't like the idea of being lowered by ropes around their ankles, so I'm at a loss of how to get this done, short of a MASSIVE crane on the other side of the river.

Any advice would be appreciated.

+1 for swing stage scaffold.
Check around for rentals & prices in your area. They usually rent on a monthly basis, gives plenty of time to get a job done, and will probably set you back a couple grand, which you just bill to the customer anyway.

Thanks. I'll look into it. I assume the rental company would come and set everything up, but I wonder if it would cover the entire width of the project? Totally unfamiliar to me, but I'll see what I can dig up. Not sure how limited this resource is in Vermont.

I would love to and I agree that this would be an easy pass if we hadn't already done $60k worth of work with them last year, with at least that much expected this year.
And the guys at the shop are already talking about wearing their Spiderman pajamas when they go out on this one.
We are going to need to see some pictures of that....

I'm sure you'd be able to find a rental, construction companies rent them more often than buying, so there's usually a rental option not too far away from anywhere. They come in various sizes, and most the roof units are on wheels, and can roll sideways on the roof, so you can move them and do multiple drops pretty easy. Safest, most efficient way to do that insanity.

At least you're not doing a water tower, the ones you use for those are really small, and really sketchy. Our installers have always been a little hardcore
