I've run a sign shop for 8 years and one of the biggest problems I've had to constantly deal with is tracking inventory.

After doing a lot of research I was able to starting using QR codes and smart phones to track everything. I put this video together to explain the process, I hope it helps.

Ive never bothered to keep track of inventory, we buy materials for specific jobs, when the job is done the materials are considered paid for. If we happen to get another job out of a off-cut, it's just a nice bonus!
