Is this a good business decision?

Do people actually wait in line for tickets?

Not sure if Nevada has changed or not but we used to get people driving in from Vegas just to buy tickets. Rosies Den has had in the past hit there limit on lottery sales and couldn't sell anymore for a certain drawing. That was before it burned down. I remember coming by that place from vegas and there was lines of people outside the building for the tickets.

Being a grandpa is more fun than working
Chances are that the guy who spends his last $150 already has been gambling...and losing pitifully. Food stamps make this kinda crap waaaaay to easy. (And I'm not knocking those who really need them)

Business is already risky enough....who needs to gamble away hard earned dollars?

That guy would be better off turning the $150 into a couple grand.

Art! Hot and fresh.
A while ago I mapped out the results of florida's lottery from stats over the previous 10 years ... found out the top 15 numbers and was able to win $100 to $600 every so often so i always came out ahead ... but not enough to entertain the idea of really going for the gusto ... but a good amount. otherwise it's just dumb luck.

It's fun to daydream.

Someone is gonna really get rich overnight.

It will probably be like the last time that the lotto got pretty big. (3) investment bankers bought $3 in tickets, and won....

Thats right, they spent a buck apiece, and now that much richer....

I threw $1 in a pool with 70 odd other people that I work with at a day job, but probably won't do much more...

As the old addage goes, if you want to double your money, fold it in half and put it in your pocket...

I never believed much in buying lottery tickets until my Dad won $250,000
I got a nice gift that week and it sure came in handy.

I have better things to spend my money on then the lottery, beside the person that wins it is the one that doesn't need it in the first palce.

Interesting. I was listening to the radio and evidently many people living close to the border are traveling down from Canada just to get tickets. After all, it's tax free in Canada! (Well, you'd have to claim it back but still..) Me... I can't even win an argument...

I played last weeks, and playing this weeks. It's only $1.00 why not give it at least 1 shot? You never know! Ya gotta play to win, even if it's a buck!

I'm sorry but I wouldn't be happy if someone foreign won it. It just doesn't seem fair at all, IMO!

I buy about $5 worth of tickets here every couple of weeks.
Sure the odds are astronomical but a slim chance is better than none.

It's just my opinion. I feel like since it's our(United States) lottery, than you should have to be a US citizen. The part that I don't agree with is that you would pay whatever taxes are for your home country+whatever the state tax policy is for wherever you got the ticket, and not the same amount of taxes someone "of" this country would have to pay. I would definitely feel better if you(not you, but a foreigner lottery winner) would have to pay equal amount in taxes as a citizen.
