Issue printing on white static cling

I am printing black and red (zero 9 ribbons) on to FDC white static cling. The black prints fine. The red border prints fine on the top and bottom but is rough/fuzzy on the left and right sides. Any thoughts?

Have you tried cleaning the material with Alcohol and then reprint?

The problem is almost certainly that the combination of the red foil and the cling don't get along. I would almost guarantee that if you use a Gerber red foil there would be no problem. Try a different red foil.

Would setting from normal to darker help?
