Chrome wrapping film exists.
I have some.
It stretches. You can crease it. It's gorgeous.
I might have to wrap my escalade in it.
I'll post more pics when I get further into testing.

No air release but you don't need it. It's still in prototype phase. I'll keep you all posted

is it legal? After months of waiting i finally got 1 yard of the stuff. I was told it's illegal though, and that you cannot drive it in the cities or interstates.

I was going to wrap a motorcycle fender we have in it, and put it in our lobby.

Not sure in every state. My parents are both cops and they said there is no law against it.
If a cop tried to ticket you..,, you could mass lawsuit every chrome tanker truck on the road.
Works good. Expensive yes.. Needs better clear protection though for sure.

Would it be possible to maybe laminate it with super thin lam??

A new Camaro that was wrapped in chrome last week at the PRI show in Orlando. Looked pretty good, but it looked like it would scratch pretty easy. Talked briefly with the guys that did the car. I think they was Czech. I asked who's material and they claimed it was their own.

Are you plannng on laminating it onto 180 then 180 on top for install? That's the extra expense I don't like. Especially when you discard the top 180. But hey, i'm cheap.

Seriously, other than trade show attraction, who really wants to drive a full-chrome vehicle? I can't imagine such thing over here in Quebec with all the road debris, small rocks, sand, calcium on the road, not to mention the mess caused by bugs in the summer. Imagine trying to get rid of the bug on front bumper and ending up with a "brushed chrome" front end... Bugs must now eat so much acid / chemical stuffs that it's nearly impossible to get back to original factory shine. Ask truckers... Anyway, a Lambo is already a head turner so why trying to make it flash even more? Instead, get it wrapped with texture or stylish / racing graphics... I'd like to get that chrome wrap film but certainly not to offer full wrap, more for other tricky parts to get chromed (motorcycle add-on for instance...)

The same people who drive a low-rise ricer in those conditions.

Imagine the glare off the hood when driving toward the sun. So much for visors.
But there are plenty of other uses for this stuff. I am intrigued.

It is theirs, they developed it a couple years ago. There are youtube videos of their cars on the road and in fact we've already had this thread a few times.

Don't really like the idea of full wrapping a car but it'd be a nice addition for doing rocker panels or whatever.

Any info on US distribution? Lots of questions on this as well like expected durability, warranty, pricing, sample availability, etc. Honest to goodness actually had a call today from a guy asking about a chrome wrap for a car!

I've seen cars fully wrapped in this stuff. It looks so awful. Always tons of patchwork, it's always smudged.. and just looks terrible when your less then 10 feet away. The stuff scratches when you wipe it with a paper towel.
