Not sure about this exact material - but most wall material is Matte - so start with MCVP profile, maybe moving to Generic Vinyl 1 & 2 if not happy with those results.

Probably a little thicker than calendared vinyl, and may need a little more heat.

Hope that helps.

I found one that MacTac made for WallNoodle and used that. It had bad banding, so I had to make it unidirectional, but if I remember right that worked out. That stuff didn't stick to the wall though, so we ditched it and started using PhotoTex.

Yep, no problems with it. Sticks good each time so far. Some people don't like how it cuts since it's more of a scrim than a vinyl, but I just set my plotter on the slowest speed it will cut, and let it take it's time. It's great stuff.

I just ordered a roll of the Avery wall film (2601?) for a mural I'm doing. It's the only other product besides phototex that can be printed to the edges (that I'm aware of) and it's half the cost of phototex. I'll post my results. Also it's vinyl not fabric.

We tested the GMI Wall Graphics, MACtac Wall Noodle and Sihl 3529 SyntiSol PolyPro Film w/ EastyTack.

The best product we found was the Sihl 3529:

SyntiSOL PP-Film is a self-adhesive (EasyTack), satin coated and tear resistant polypropylene film with a waterfast coating for solvent inks. The product has a paper-like touch and the printouts are characterised by high color brilliance, high image definition and long durability. The special low-tack glue allows an easy and 100% bubble-free application and residue-free removal on board, plate or glass. The special solvent coating allows to combine the ecological and physical characteristics of a polypropylene film with the advantages of very durable inks.
Advantages[FONT=Geneva, Arial, Helvetica]
  • Compatible with eco and real solvent inks
  • High contrast and therefore good image definition
  • Short drying time as well fast ink fixation
  • Suitable for indoor short term application as decorative or POS banner
  • EasyTack; simple to stick, simple to take away without residues
  • Very easy to handle and use, its working without professional assistance!

just curious if anyone is laminating these products and if so with what? My laminator has top and bottom heat, would heat activated work? I have a job coming up that is going to be used in a child's room and I thought the parents would be happier if they could scrub the walls if necessary.

thanks jason, where do you buy from?
I buy from Sihl - I am a dealer (but don't hold that against me). I have a Roland VP540 in my demo room and get to play with all kinds of media.

If you want some samples or have any questions, please feel free to call or email me anytime.

Use a pressure senstive laminate, heat could really effect the adhesive (could even melt the material). I would say a 3 mil satin would be ideal.
