Need Help JFX200-2513 Clear Ink Advice

Adam Vreeke

Knows just enough to get in a lot of trouble..
Hey Guys,

We recently just switched our JFX200-2513 from CMYK / CMWW to CMYK / CCWW and am looking for any helpful suggestions. I have never had to change the lamp positions before, even though it is recommended for printing with white and CMYK. However, since the print was fully dried with good adhesion and no tackiness on the print I have never had to move the lamps.

Needless to say when I first tested the clear it came as a shock as I could just wipe the gloss ink off with a paper towel. I have since printed the lamp chart to have at hand, but it seems like there is still a texture when I print the gloss (ever so slight in the reflection see attached). All samples that I have seen and even when I printed gloss at a different job on a different machine Roland LEJ640, the gloss finish was as smooth as glass and I am just not getting that with this.

I have made sure to wipe down the material as best as possible to reduce dust particles and have been moving the lamps to different positions to see if there is a better drying position (i.e. moving them from 0 to 5 etc.). Is there any other settings that I am missing that could help solve this problem? I have tried to do more overprints, I tested with 1, 3, 6, and 9 but it seems like the more overprints you go the worse the problems get. Also if it makes a difference all ink is LH-100 and all the glass lamp covers have been wiped clean.

Any help or advice is appreciated.
