DIY Printer Fixing Guide
If you're replacing one of the pumps in the supply box that has like 10 pumps in it, you can take a syringe and pull some ink through before attaching the output line and that will minimize any air getting into the system. It's not a must but it can help avoid air bubbles causing issues. Whether you do that or not, you're going to want to run a sub tank maintenance and then do an air purge after anyway.

Yes, its in the supply box on the bitton side. Prior to the replacement I was doing an airpurge on my problematic magenta line and was coming through purple (mixed with the cyan somehow, how could this be?) Lots of magenta firing problems recently.

I also got a syringe and pulled through when doing the air purge on the magenta (maybe a bad idea?)'

But now I am getting a supply issue on the magenta, lots of attempted refills on engineer mode (can't remember what it's called) and very weak air purges. But can't get past supply issue.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks both

If you pull hard on air ports, you might pull in ink from the nozzles. If you do it gently, it's more likely you'll just do it through the subtank. If tank isn't filling, it could be a lack of air vacuum. Check the clear lines attached to the subtanks for signs of ink getting in them.
