JFX200 Squaring / Distance Calibration

Hi,

We've got a JFX200-2513 and were wondering how to calibrate the scan / feed direction control settings. We'll routinely print onto various materials with calibration marks that are used when cutting out shapes on a CNC router. We know the router is calibrated, based on their squaring procedure (30"x60" square in the center of something and measure corner-to-corner, within 1/16"-1/32"). Our print marks, at about 96", will routinely be off on the X (scan) about 0.5"-1" over that 96". The "feed" or "Y" is almost always on or off by ten-thou or so. I know there is a setting in RasterLink for "scan" but didn't know what procedure to perform to figure out what to input or how to go about squaring it.

Thanks

Are you saying the flatbed isn't printing the size it's suppose to print?

I've never heard of a flatbed printing "not square" that would skew the images & probably see weird banding.

Have you tested it by printing a ruler and using a measuring tape or a 1m ruler and seeing if it lines up?

Knows just enough to get in a lot of trouble..
I would try the ruler thing. I attached 2 files that I print on my printer.

I believe I found the solution, thanks to Adam Vreeke, I downloaded the files he provided, printed the first one and came 0.14" short, then I made the ajustment in the print quality tab and selected the Scan Direction Distance Correction and then, click on auto correction and print another sample, the file is now at 100%, but it has to be done in this tab, for each job. See below.

Hope this will help someone else.

Can also set axis compensation in the quality tab of RasterLink. Although, that is a per-job setting.
Oh that's asinine, can you not have a 'quick set' like in onyx that automatically applies a set of settings to the jobs?
Why would axis compensation change between jobs on a flatbed?

Rasterlink has that. They're called, "favorites" and you can save that setting in one of your favorites. There's also an adjustment in the printer service mode that allows you to do a permanent scan distance adjustment. It basically calibrates your motor to the encoder since each one is a little different. But it shouldn't change between jobs.

Man who touches printers inappropriately.
Any complicated software that one lacks familiarity in feels like it sucks.
I have had countless conversations that basically broke down into
"RasterLink sucks, I don't know why I can't do XXXX"
"Click that button right there."
"Oh, that's stupid, it should be here."

This is me and enroute. Well, that and the cost...
