Has anyone had the experience of the roller drum on a gsx plus 15" plotter get real sticky and actually start oozing an oily type substance. This has happened to mine twice in the life of the plotter (approx 13 years) We fixed it the first time by actually replacing the entire roller and the other rubberized guides which was a costly repair.

That is the recommended fix for the problem. Seems like there was a post recently that indicated the price of drums had come down quite a bit.

First and foremostly, keep it out of direct sunlight. The uv causes accelerated deterioration of these drums. An opaque dust cover is a "must have" for these little guys.
