What would happen if it had been later in the day and this happened wherby I could not get a new cartridge.

What proceedure would need to happen so that the machine would not get screwed up over the weekend?

During an extended power outage(about 75 hours) a few years ago from a bad spring storm....I just filled the capping station with flush and parked it. Printed like a champ upon power up. I believe I had to pinch some lines to keep it from draining.

you should be fine over the weekend. JV3 right?
set a nozzle wash and power-down the printer, flipping the secondary switch in the back as well.
keeps the printheads/lines/dampers "wet" for as long as you need.

was it really the wrong ink? I've been having this issue lately, as well. Solved by lighting pressing the cartridge in "further". Ink level sensor or computer chip reader error, who knows, but I tap the cartridge a little harder in the slot and I get the "beep" and the "CARTRDGE K" error message changes back to "LOCAL" and I win.

after playing around with the cartridge, I noticed the label on the end said ss21.... The thing is you would think that Mimaki would package the ink so that they did not look so similar, in fact name it completely different too and colour it differently. My supplier is a 5 minuite drive so no probn, but when I got back I see that my magenta is now low and I do have a spare. I look at it and it too is a ss21....Strange that in 6 years it has never happened before and now twice in the same day I have the same issue. The magenta was bought a week before xmas so they were not picked at the same time.

prolly happened the 2nd time because the 1st order was messed up, and they based the new order off the recent order history.
that's sweet you're supplier is so close. I have to drive 45min in each direction, if I need to get to my 3 suppliers in a hurry, but I've been getting good at ordering early & stocking up when I can afford to. I always have 1-2 of each CMYK in my storeroom.
