JV3-130 SPii problem

Can somebody please help me. I just got JV3-130spii, and I am still not familiar with it. I am having problem sending files to print. I am using Flexi 8.1. I dont know if I am missing something or maybe something needs to be changed on printer. I turn printer on, load media and hit remote button, then send job from Flexi. Everything goes fine, but when printing is done and I wanna send another job I get message on flexi "cannot open port". So in order to print again I need to turn printer off and start it again. Is this something major with the board inside or just some settings. Thanks in advance

Could be driver issue with Flexi 8.1. Upgrading is one option, but costly. Send me your Flexi User Number and I will see if I have any updates that may help you... may have a service pack saved on the server.

So its nothing wrong with a printer, its a software issue?

Not 100% sure but very possible. Do you have another RIP like Rasterlink to test it? Flexi did make service packs and minor updates to version 8 for these types of issues.

don't sound like a printer issue at all, sounds like a driver issue or a port issue

we had a similar issue years ago, nothing short of a very very simple fix, used a different firewire cable and all was right in the world again, don;t know why it fixed it, but it did

Don't think so.

As wsgraphix mentioned, try a different firewire cable.

Chances are that I have a patch for the version you are running that may eliminate the issue, if it is in fact the driver... key number?
