JV3 130SP II Printing problem on 720x720

Hello, We have a Mimaki JV3 SPII.
The machine is working for 5 years perfectly the only things we have replaced are the head (one of them) and the slider board. We used to print only 720x720 8-16 passes, but by the time of usage the machine started to make “satellites” and at the moment we print on 360x720 16 passes and the quality is excellent. When we put it on 720x720 quality gets pretty bad whit huge “satellites” and color shift. The Rip is Onyx Rip Center 7.0 and ran tests with one profile on 720 that was perfect when it worked properly.

If there is someone who can help me to resolve this problem I’ll be very thankful!

turn your variable dot on and off for the same print and see if there is a difference.

If the satellites don't show up when variable dot is turned off, you most likely need a new head. Variable dot uses a more precise firing pattern and is the first function of the head to fail when there is an electrical failure.

what is meant by satellites?

Satellites are what you see in the Onyx print provided by OP. Basically nozzles that fired outside of where they are supposed to.

You were right. I haven't got a profile for normal data, but I ran a test from the service menu. The cyan prints good on 720x720 sets to N2 but when I set it on V2 there are only lines that appear. The machine is 1x6 and the cyan and yellow are at the same head. I don't understand why do I have problems with the cyan colour and not with yellow?

probably a viscosity issue between the two inks. if you wanted to isolate that, you could swap dampers yellow to cyan, cyan to yellow.

No, the inks are the same. I changed the dumper but the problem stays. May be head is for new ... :(

Thank you for the help!

I agree with VanderJ. I have seen this several times. Your test draw actually indicates where the problem( or part of it is). If you look in the the test draw you'll clearly see a bow near the top in the 2nd head. You're also missing a lot of nozzles directly adjacent in the yellow. Maybe a head strike? Either way, when I see this it creates the satellite effect. So in short, you need a new print head.
