What's the purpose on these? Don't the chips safe gaurd you from bad ink cartridges. Helps in letting you know the cartridges are low? OR is this for a bulk ink system?

I was thinking about paying outta pocket for these myself, but idk when I'll get around to upgrading my ink system.... or even getting my boss to grant me a budget for it!

chip resetting and permanent chips are available for that printer (last i read). do some coagulation tests with some epson ink and the "new" yellow. tweak your settings a bit and change yellow, i say. one year is castastrophic. as far as "formulating" inks for certain printers... i've stuck so many different inks, including homemade inks etc. it's not that big of a deal.

me me me! finally converted to CMYKx2 a month ago and my 440 chips are at 1-3.

Yours if you want them. Shoot me a PM with your email. Also - if you are interested - for another $100 I have a interesting bulk ink system for a JV3. It mounts directly to the ends of the machine where the yellow shipping handles are usually attached. Interesting setup - uses sealed ink bottles but I did modify a set of 8 bottles by drilling them and adding solvent resistant rubber plugs so I could just refill them on the machine. Mostly cleaned but you would probably want to flush it further and I'm not sure you could totally flush out the cartridges that go in the slots that it connects to but it would probably attach to most other refillable cartridges. Couple of photos from when it was on the machine.... not in the photos but it's the same thing for both ends.
