JV3 - printhead install / alignment woes

pardon the long-read, but i'm wiped and looking for confirmation of my alignment procedure diagnosis.
although its my 4th printhead install, it has been a while since I've done this and now I'm second-guessing my next step:
**********
in the Y-Si alignment procedure, I know that I'm supposed to input the value of the overlapping lines..... that's fine by me, EXCEPT, what does it mean when I have a curved line on a newly-installed printhead?
I even reset the value to zero and re-ran the print, just incase it may have been result of an extreme variable, but is it safe to assume my next step is to backtrack to Unit/Slant/Mechanical adjustment?
**********
attached are photos of the Y-si alignment print, as well as the Y-base print where I now notice a slight CW-rotation of the 4&5/7 lines (b&w scan, but its my cyan channels). (pardon the slight-skew of the test prints, due to quick rotation on my screen and screenshot) I've also added another Y-si alignment print of my magenta head to reflect what the alignment print normally looks like.

First thing are you sure your media is totally flat? This is critical when doing these adjustments. From the middle image it almost appears your slant adjustment is off. The slant adjust needs to be done with a loupe and must basically be perfect.

Noooo! I don't even want to think about any possibility that doesn't include a successful (although misaligned) printhead install! :)
anything's a possibility, i guess, but the x-base/y-base procedures that preceded this error... all had perfectly clean and solid lines. (my photos are horrible... low res scans)

Could it be improperly input head ranks? I'd imagine a voltage issue could cause a misfire like that. I'd had similar issues in the past, where the line seemed curved on the bottom, but not completely bowed like yours. What do prints look like if you just go forward, aligning with the center of the top line?

thanks for the replies. definitely helps having some input to get my "head" going back in the right direction, or at lease A-direction :)

Could it be improperly input head ranks?
winner! (i hope)
during initial install, the printer wasn't accepting the head rank i'd written-down, so i just went with the existing #. figured I'd give this fix a go before anything else, as it was the only step i'd completely ignored and moved-on. (noted to self, going to dig through old posts on s101 for the comments I remember people stating that its "OK" to use a working head rank i.d. if their new printhead came w/o one.... it is definately NOT ok)

turns out, a "B" I had written was being input as an "8" but I was hung-up on all the "U"'s I thought I may have mistaken as "V's"... etc, blahhh.

immediately ran a Y-si to confirm and alignment prints coming out MUCH cleaner now, still a very very slight curve (at the top of the line) but i'm hoping that will clear-up when I start this whole alignment process over again.
