JV3 stops printing

Someone broke in and stole my computers. On the new PC I installed a firewire card. The JV3 prints for about a minute then stps. If I shutdown all other programs on the PC the JV3 will print a little longer about a third of the time. When it stops it give the error message "an error occurred during outout (0) Bus Reset occurred {-5364148} > -
[Terminate] - (0x02018003)"
I even tried connecting to the LPT port, but it says 1394 can't open port(w) no printers were found like it's still looking for the firewire port.

Any suggestions?

this printer and fire wire can be very touchy. there's a lot of firewire discussions on the yahoo jv3 board. a whole lot of stuff there.

i'm assuming you did the standard and extensively troublesome firewire install. there are two phases to installing the firewire driver. you have to do it exactly the way the instructions say.

We had a problem where the printer would stop mid print & the LCD screen would flash, turned out to be the firewire cable was faulty.
