JV33 not recognizing new cartridge

Hello. On my 33 when installing a new ink (o.e.m.) the red light stays on steady. If i put the existing ink it blinks (as it needs replacing). This has been happening.. any ideas on why?

JV33 uses Chip System
So Check if Ink type is same (SS1, SB53, SS21 ,etc) Settings in machine and cartridge chip. I've never seen any JV33 where Chip system must be repaired so its most probably Chip issue(catridge problem).

What config are you running, CMYKx2 ?CMYKLCLM? have you tried this cartridge in any other slot?
