Keeping mags from scratching the paint

Hey guys, I have a customer who is concerned about magnetic signs scratching their paint as they will come on and off once a week.

I know you should wipe down the area and the magnetic sign each time but i know not everyone is going to do that each and every time.

Is there thin felt or something you can put in some areas on the back and have it still adhere good?

Thanks!

Put some clear paint protection film on the car in the area the mags will go over.

Roper of Goats. Old ones.
Your roll of automag probably came with a sheet of instructions for care and handling of Mags and the surface they are applied to. The one that I get with every roll says to wax the surface of the vehicle before applying and to clean both surfaces at least once a week and everytime after it rains.

The biggest risk of scratching is from sliding them around. If you don't slide the magnet on the paint, it shouldn't scratch. They should be "rolled' on and off.

Also, you should include a disclaimer to your customer that you are not responsible for damage, fading, discoloration, etc. IIRC, the magnet manufacturers recommend removing the magnets daily (like that's going to happen).
