L25500 Head Strikes on 60"

When we print on 60" 3MIJ180Cv3 we get a few inches of head strikes EVERY time near the middle of the pass.
54" prints perfect all day.
Anyone got a fix for this?

There is input tension on the rip settings also vacuum settings. Have you adjusted these yet?

I was getting head strikes for the first time on 60" photorealstic paper.

I increased the vaccum to 50 and it seemed to solve the problem so far.

What does the input tension do? I imagine that it controls how it pulls the media off the role? If it pulls to tight, the media may relax and buckle when it's under the print head?

Lower your drying temp a little. Excessive heat is buckling the vinyl just enough for the head to touch it. Increasing the vacuum as you did helps too. Tension is between the pinch roller and roll of media, your problem occurs after that so I don't think it has much affect for this situation.
