Do you mean how to make one or how to get the time and date in a large format in the room.
To just get the date and time in the room, a cheap TV hooked up to an older PC running some sort of webpage.
If you know someone who knows electronics here are some big 7 segment LEDS.

I believe something from a scoreboard type of company would work.

To do it right though I wouldn't just hang the clock in the room. Needs to be mounted behind some sort of sign with like a It's 00:00 do you know where your grandpa is.

I think the TV running a webscript is a great idea, highly customizeable, and still relatively inexpensive (could probably run off of a USB drive or the new chromecast things)
