Large high resolution graphics for signs

Looking for a good source for high resolution high DPI large image size background for 4x8 signs.
For instance needing a very high resolution image to use as a background that is a galaxy design.

I have some 96 dpi files that are around 3840x2160 and a couple 96dpi at 6144x4608 but doesn't really look that well when printed.

Use vector graphics so you don't need to worry about resolution. I did a quick search at vectorstock and there are many beautiful vectors of galaxies. If it HAS to be nice and crisp when viewed up close, use vector if possible.

Have you looked on NASA's site? They have a huge library of High Res Hubble images. It may take some searching though. galaxy hi res - NASA Search Results

High Resolution Seamless Texture Tiles of Night Sky

These tiles are 3,600 x 3,600 pixels and can be repeated in all directions without seeing the repetition. In your case, one horizontal repeat covers a 4' x 8' board at better than 72 PPI resolution.

I use Depositphotos.com for a lot of stock images and vectors. I just did a search and there are galaxy JPG images as large as 7000 x 4000 pixels. a 96" x 48" image at 72dpi (standard dpi for large format), is 6912 x 3456 pixels. If vectors aren't an option and you must use bitmap images, try to find ones with at least 6912 x 3456 pixels.

I agree with BlueMoonATL: check out NASA's website. I made this file 29.75" x 9" @ 600ppi, scaled it up 400% in Caldera Visual+, and it looks great.

This is the exact image i am looking for lol.. everything i am finding of that one is 9725x4662 but its at 72 dpi already.
