Hello,

I did a search but couldn't find this comparison. Can someone point me to were I can read about this?

Can Latex printers , print on convex vinyl to produce helmet sports decals?

Convex vinyl? What kind of printer could run anything convex? Is this a joke?

lol, so easy even a "Concave-man" can answer :ROFLMAO:
....YES.
Anything that is solvent/ecosolvent compatible, Latex can do better.

Would it be worth getting a latex machine instead of an edge when the main client base in sports helmet decals ? Does the latex machine produce fumes ? That's one thing that I like about the thermal printers, no fumes. This machine will be in my home and need something that won't disturb the oxygen we breath. Lol!

Also, what's a couple of latex printers, you guys recommend.

I see another person has drank the koolaide. I hope we can still save him from the dark side.

top latex machine brands are HP & Mimaki. haven't bothered researching anything else.
my HP26500 runs right next to my design computer, zero fumes & no exhaust system required. The only smell that comes out of it, is that of hot vinyl...which smells like money to me :)
we used to have MAJOR fumes/smell from our Jv3 Solvent printer, even with an exhaust system moving air from the machine out of a vent in the roof. i got used to it, but everyone else in my office always complained. Now, with the Latex printer, everyone loves how warm my office gets in the winter time and actually hang out by the printer during breaks to watch it print and warm up their chills from the shop.

helmet decals? maybe stick with the edge? idk. 48/54/60" printers seem like overkill for such small tasks BUT it will print them just fine.
however, the edge allows you greater variety in colors/foils than the CMYKLmLc can manage ...mainly metallics, which I'm sure is a huge upsell on your-end.

latex or thermal

HP has the Latex printer on sale for about $12K. I like the look of thermal resin better but it costs more per sq foot for the consumables.
