Learning to Print...

Hey All, Looking for some suggestions on learning to print. Am comfortable (still learning) FlexiSign 10 but have no issues with setup and plotting. Recently acquired a DC4 and am struggling to figure out the colour printing. Spot colours are easy but once I delve into colour matching I am out of my league. Any suggestions on courses to take to learn how to design and setup files for printing? Seem to be wasting lots of material, ink and time to no avail. Thanks in advance.

Color matching is almost an art. It has taken me year and countless amount of mistakes.
A couple things is your lighting will change the way the color looks, printing in cmyk file or rgb, and using color profiles. I always try and ask the customer what PMS color I'm trying to match to (at least the the closest one) making sure you have a fairly new color book is key.
