Leister Uniplan E - UltraFlex

We just purchased a uniplan E, and want to start producing Pole Banners, and switching away from tape hemming, we currently use UltraFlex 18oz Smooth Pole Banner, and we are having a hard time finding a happy medium from getting a good weld without burning the image or creasing the weld. (UV Prints) We also use 13oz standard scrim from ultraflex.

Thank you !

We have a leister. Not at shop but will post settings we use for 13oz.

If you are trying to heat weld double sided prints with UV inks, it won't work. Uv inks keep the heat from penetrating enough. Solvent inks, yes, but not uv.

For the double Sided, we leave the seam blank where we are going to weld, we have a 30mm welder and overlap the weld 1/16" to 1/8" depending on the length, we can only go 64" with our Solvent, but our UV is 98", so we try to minimize the welds this way.

ours is a 20 mm wedge. for 130z jetflex we have had good success with

speed: 20
air volume: 100
temperature: 650

we dont have one for 18oz polebanner - we use other machine.

we have found it easier to find the right settings for new material by keeping speed and air volume same (20 and 100) and change temperature only in increments of 20 degrees or so until you find the sweet spot.
