Letters disappearing

Hi,
I'm producing a basic job from customers artwork, in Corel X3. When I publish to PDF and read into Versaworks, the letters are disappearing? When checking in Corel, the fill color has a little marker next to it which I figure has some bearing on the problem - anyone know what it means?

Some sort of stroke has been applied. Perhaps an in-line as opposed to an outline? Maybe white letter with white stroke?

The stroke is below it and is X'ed out. I'm guessing that you picked an overprint white or a non printing version of white. try using a different pallet for your white.
