I know it is some sort of Old English variant, but can't seem to find spot on. Also they only have one terrible low res source file. :p

There are many different versions of this font. The most well-known version is called Engravers' Old English, designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1902, but he based it on an older design from the 18th century by William Caslon. I presume English Towne by Dieter Steffman is based on one of those.

Engravers' Old English is free if you have a Monotype subscription.
