LHF Font question

We have the LHF Convecta Font.
No matter what we do, the two do not line up when applying the convex over the base. We change kerning as suggested.
Anyone use this font? Do you have the same issue?

Type your text then duplicate change the secondary to convex and adjust to fit in the base. Also there's a tutorial on his site but I'm not sure if it's in photoshop.

Cant adjust size wise, or through kerning. You have to do each individual letter bas then convex.
So in order to spell "THE" You have 6 layers 2T's 2H's 2E's.
If you adjust anything as one word, all letters shift. I have looked at the tut. Just says adjust kerning and duplicate. Does not work in Photoshop, it makes the convex larger.
