Wait, what are you putting T5's in? We almost exclusively install T12's in signs.
As far as the 4' LED lamp, 240W is way out of line, at least for what we've been using. Principal XL sticks as an example only pull 18.6 watts on a 48" double sided stick. So that gives you 6 sticks($45 each) on a 120 watt power supply (@ about 2.2 amps, $55/power supply), vs a 16L to run an equivalent set of fluorescents($10 each) (@ 3 amps, $130/ballast).
But that is all beside the point on new builds for us. The fact that you can screw 6 of these in and wire them in under 30 minutes, vs punching and installing 12 sockets in a raceway lid (cost of sockets to boot!), wire opposite ends of the lamp, then check to make sure numb nuts built the cabinet long enough for the lamp to fit (it's hard to shave 1/4" off a lamp).
Plus they have this sweet 10 year parts warranty on almost all sticks and power supplies at this point, 5 years for labor up to $100 per power supply.< This is what sells leds to most of my customers.
