Actually it is a hawk. A Cooper's Hawk to be exact. Took this just now as he was perched on a branch over my shop. He was scoping out the myriad birds at our feeders.
There's three hawks that hang around our neighborhood. I'm not enough of a birder to know if they're Red Tails, Coopers, or Sharp Shinned --- and the only reason I know those names is because there's an avid birder here locally that updates her website monthly with photos of what she's seen during that time.
That is a really clear picture and it's nice to see nature right outside you door.
I have a couple of owls outside and I can never get a good picture of them.
I will keep trying and I am definetly getting a better camera.
Very nice, we have redtails on a regular basis around the house and shop. Bald Eagles from time to time, Swallowtail Kites, Owls always, actually we have quite a number of bird species at different times of the year.
