VS-640 wouldn't "cut sheet" so I decided to the the LIMIT POSITION & CUT DOWN POSITION INITIALIZE procedure. But when I do this the tool carriage is VERY hard to separate from the head carriage. From what I understand when doing this procedure the magnet should let go so the tool carriage separates easily correct? I am having to force it apart. After the procedure completes I instantly get a motor error of either 0080 or 0040 when I go to turn the machine off. This appears to happen when the head tries to cap itself.
I have cleaned the encoder strip to make sure that wasn't the problem. I have tried doing the limit procedure about 10 times with the same results. Even tried moving the head carriage all the way to the left but it keeps giving the error when gets all the way back right trying to cap itself. If the head isn't capped when doing the procedure I get the "unrecoverable limit sensor" error. Currently can't do anything as I get the 0040 error when turning the machine on.
The machine was cutting sheets just fine. But recently had the main board out and since reassembly it started doing this. I guess my main question is shouldn't the tool carriage separate easily during that procedure? If not, what am I doing wrong? Seems pretty idiot proof.
