Ok so i have an xc-540 for about 4 years now and a couple of months ago i kept receiving scan motor errors so we finally replaced it. Now i am getting another scan motor error 0090 0080 so I had a tech look at it.
I sensed that the problem was that the rail was dirty with gunk and buildup because when i did an initialize application and setup up the cut carriage it felt so rusty and heavy compared to the print head which slid across the correct way. I cleaned the rail and put some 3-in-1 and it still felt like the cut carriage had something stuck behind it.
Cut carriage was dissassembled by the tech and all the bearings fell out.
Roland doesn't sell this part by itself and says its $1,300
Has anyone successfully bought extra bearings and tried to rig this??
Rail is completely out of my budge after dropping $1k not even a month ago on a scan motor...
